The suspect, Aqueel Sheikh, was apprehended after a six-hour strategic operation and has a prior criminal record. Police officials confirmed that he has been placed in custody for two days.

Details of the Incident

Aqueel Khan, aged 28, was arrested in Indore on October 23, 2025, for allegedly stalking and molesting two members of the Australian women's cricket team. The incident took place as the players were walking to a cafe. Authorities tracked the suspect using CCTV footage, leading to his swift arrest. Both the police and Cricket Australia have acknowledged the prompt response to the situation.

The security head of the Australian team reported the incident, resulting in an FIR being filed under sections BNS 74 for inappropriate behavior and BNS 78 for stalking. Dandotiya stated, "After an intensive six-hour operation, we arrested Aqueel Sheikh, who has a criminal history. He appeared in court yesterday, and we are currently interrogating him. Following today's police remand, we will present him to the court for a judicial remand."
